The Food and Resource Economics Department at the University of Florida is recruiting for two tenure-track positions as indicated below. Assistant Professor: (Position Number: 0001-3829)

This is a 12-month tenure-accruing position that carries a 60 % extension (Florida Cooperative Extension Service) and 40% research (Florida Agricultural Experiment Station) appointment in the Food and Resource Economics Department (www.fred.ifas.ufl.edu), UF/IFAS. Duties include the implementation of an integrated program of extension and research related to water policy, use and allocation, and issues at the rural/urban interface. Extension and research efforts may also include water quality issues related to the discharge of water from agricultural lands and the impacts of urbanization on water quantity and quality, how water policy is developed, an analysis of policy alternatives, water transfer issues, and the interrelationships between water and land use issues. The faculty member will be expected to work closely with county extension faculty to design and deliver educational programs to include in-service training and appropriate extension publication outlets. Research responsibilities include supervision of graduate students and are expected to result in the procurement of extramural grant funding and generation of refereed publications and publications in other appropriate outlets. Synergy between research and extension programs and collaboration with the School of Natural Resources and Environment (www.snre.ufl.edu), other UF units such as the newly created Water Institute (http://waterinstitute.ufl.edu), and relevant federal, state, and local government agencies is expected. The initial assignment may change over time in accordance with the needs of the unit.
