We are seeking a quantitative ecologist or economist to work on return-on-investment problems in conservation, in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy. The successful applicant will collate and analyze both ecological data (e.g. species lists, species-area relationships, habitat types and quality) and costs associated with different conservation strategies, and will use the results in calculations aimed at maximizing conservation gain per dollar expended. The research will concern conservation in South America and the researcher will collaborate with the PIs and the TNC staff in this region (applicants should be able to travel outside the US). A PhD in a relevant discipline is required; an applicant with experience in modeling and data-analysis, and theory in a relevant discipline, will be preferred.
