The University of Calgary invites applications for a Tier II Canada Research Chair in the economics and policy of energy, effective July 1, 2007. The Chair is a tenure track position in the Department of Economics at the assistant or associate professor level with a reduced teaching load and enhanced research support. Applicants with expertise in the economics of energy or energy markets and closely related fields, who have received a Ph.D. within the last ten years, are encouraged to apply. Excellence in research and teaching are the primary criteria. Candidates are expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and take advantage of collaborative research opportunities provided by the Institute for Advanced Policy Research and the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy.
