Public Economics Position

The UCR Economics Department invites applications for an open-rank position in the general area of public economics. As the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the development of the Blakely Center for Sustainable Suburban Development ( http://cssd.ucr.edu), we are especially interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in local and regional public economics with a strong overlap with the area of environmental economics and/or urban economics. Although we welcome applications from candidates at all ranks, preference will be given to scholars with an established record of outstanding research accomplishment. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2007. Applicants must have a Ph.D. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and be committed to an active, high-quality research program. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Applications should include a curriculum vita, a letter describing current and proposed future areas of research, and samples of published or written research. Applicants should submit names of at least three references and arrange for them to write directly to the department. Review of applications will begin December 11, 2006 and will continue until the position is filled.
