2008 AERE Fellows
The 2008 AERE Fellows program is in its fourth year. The fellows program was instituted to recognize outstanding contributions to the field by candidates with at least ten total years of AERE membership.
In honoring the new Fellows, we also acknowledge the many people who have contributed to the Fellows’ success. These include their families, their collaborators and research assistants, referees and editors, discussants, seminar and conference audiences, their colleagues and support staffs, university administrators, alumni donors, proposal review panels and funding agencies, and so on.

The number of fellows that could be selected in 2008 dropped from six to three per the original guidelines for the AERE Fellows Program. As has been true in the past as well, AERE received many more nominations than could be selected for this honor and as a result the selection process was a difficult one. This means that many deserving people could not be selected this time. AERE will, of course, continue selecting fellows, and those who were nominated but not selected this time will be considered again in the next round. In addition, AERE is soliciting new nominations. The deadline to submit nominations is June 1, 2009. There are many people deserving of this recognition, and AERE encourages its members to submit nominations.
