With the New Year, we are happy to announce a call for papers for the 18th Annual NAREA Workshop on “ Ecosystem Services Foundations for Resilient Communities: Agriculture, Land Use, Coasts and Energy for Human Well-Being.“  The Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association meeting will be in Mystic, Connecticut in June.  Deadline for 1500-word abstracts is March 23. Pending final decisions on funding, we anticipate offering a $1500 honorarium and partial travel assistance for speakers in conjunction with NAREA publishing a special issue in the Agricultural and Resource Economics Review (ARER). Details may be found here.

The Workshop Committee is Stephen Swallow, Charles Towe, and Sandro Steinbach. Additional details will be posted in late January.  NAREA’s workshops and associated special issues have become active, collegial events for national and global exchange of innovative research, from a diversity of perspectives. Participants at all career stages are encouraged to be authors or discussants and attendees, as these workshops strive to  enhance the national and international contributions of contributors, establish the state of the art of current knowledge, and stimulate future research that will affect policy decisions or the quality of life for human communities.  All individuals are welcome to attend, without regard for gender or ethnic backgrounds and perspectives. NAREA is proud of its open atmosphere in collegial annual meetings and workshops at which all persons are respected and encouraged to share their insights.
