AERE@OSWEET: Online Forum
Friday, April 05, 2024, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT
Category: AERE Miscellaneous

AERE@OSWEET is a supportive and constructive online forum where scholars—particularly graduate students, postdocs, early-career assistant professors, and scholars who identify as part of groups underrepresented in economics—share environmental and natural resource economics work. View current and past programs

Each OSWEET takes place on a Friday (typically the first Friday of the month) from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. ET online via Zoom. Talks are short and sweet—three papers per session, with 14–minute presentations plus 5 minutes of friendly Q&A (no discussants), followed by an optional happy half-hour. Papers will not be circulated, and recording of any kind is not allowed.

The next AERE@OSWEET session (Agriculture and the Environment) will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. ET:

  • Postharvest losses from weather and climate change: Evidence from 1.2 million truckloads - Sarah Smith (UC Davis)
  • Weather stations and agricultural productivity: Evidence from historical data in the US - Vaibhav Anand (Saint John’s)
  • Efficiency and redistribution in environmental policy: An equilibrium analysis of agricultural supply chains - Tomas Dominguez-Iino (Chicago Booth)
